Gastronomic, art and history tour for Mirasol Country Club travels to Delray Beach and Boynton Beach

A gastronomic tour mixing art and history in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach  was held in the Spring for members of the Mirasol Country Club of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida who were traveling on the Taste History Culinary Tour.

Taste History traveled to The Olive Taste in the Pineapple Grove Arts District for the private tour hosted for the Mirasol Country Club


For food tasting, the tour journeyed to The Olive Taste in the Pineapple Grove Arts District and through downtown Delray Beach to Le Macaron French Pastry Shop, Scuola Vecchia Pizza e Vino and Dee Dee's Conch & Rib Shack.  Taste History then made its way to Boynton Beach for tastings at The Little House and Palermo's Bakery.  The trip to downtown Boynton Beach involved visiting The Glass Mermaid Gallery  and meeting local artist Heather Gaker and photographer Steve Anton and a guided walking tour of the Avenue of the Arts.
The members from the Mirasol Country Club were enlightened with the multi-cultural history of the area and foods that included the Native Americans, Spaniard explorer Juan Ponce de Leon who landed in Florida in year 1513, the black Bahamians who settled in the local community and the arrival of the Germans.

Lori Richards of The Olive Taste welcomed the members of the Mirasol Country Club for their private Taste History Culinary Tour. During the tastings, Ms. Richards shared the history of olive oils.

The Le Macaron French Pastry Shop in Downtown Delray Beach was another tasting stop on the Taste History Culinary Tour hosted for the Mirasol Country Club.

Due to the exceeding popularity of the non-profit Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Palm Beach County, the first seven-months sold-out. To meet the demand for the culinary tours, more dates have been added with the tours being expanded to consist of food samplings in historic Lake Worth including Lantana in Palm Beach County, Florida. Therefore, the tours are held at 11am year-round on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of each month, plus private group tours are offered. The Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida program is offered on the third and fourth Saturdays of each month. And, Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Lake Worth & Lantana program is held on the second Saturday of each month, year-round, effective April 14, 2012.

The non-profit Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Palm Beach County includes family owned and locally operated eateries, markets and urban farms in historic Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth and Lantana plus exclusive discounts at Macy’s are provided specifically for the guests on the Taste History Culinary Tour. The Taste History Culinary Tours are the first food tours of its style in Palm Beach County and are conducted by the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) which is a non-profit 501c3 organization. These food tours include a live guide and are at least  4-hours with a combination of bus riding and 4 to 6 blocks of walking tour with visits to at least 3 to 4 restaurants/eateries/cultural sites for cuisine tastings along with alternating trips to historic districts, buildings and art galleries. There are now more 30 restaurant/food partners for the culinary tour that are visited on a rotating alternate schedule which means different eateries are visited each tour. Private group tours are also available.

The culinary tours are small-format with the average capacity for the tours being 15 to 20 people. The tour cannot accommodate dietary restrictions and dietary substitutions cannot be provided.
Effective February 1, 2015, $45 per person is the new rate for the general public tours. Due to the increase in fees that are charged to our organization for the tour bus rental and insurance; an increase in our tour fees is necessary. Pre-paid reservations that have been made prior to that date will not be affected. The Taste History Culinary Tours program is operated by a non-profit 501c3 organization.  Special rates apply for Private Group Tours.

Taste History co-hosts 2014 Spring event with Macy's Boynton Beach featuring beauty, fashion and food

The Taste History Culinary Tours co-hosted a sold-out Spring fete at Macy's Boynton Beach, Florida on Sunday, April 27, 2014.  More than 200 guests were in attendance at this exclusive by-invitation-only beauty, fashion and food reception.  The attendees traveled from throughout Palm Beach County and Broward County coming from Avalon Estates, Fountains Country Club, Four Seasons, Gleneagles Country Club, Hunter's Run Country Club, Lake Worth Art League, Ponte Vecchio, S.L.E.D, Temple Sinai and Young at Heart.

The guests were treated to beauty treatments by Macy's regional cosmetics experts from ClinqueEstee Lauder, Lancôme, M.A.C and Origins; a wardrobe presentation of the Spring styles and Lauren offered engraving on their perfume bottles. The tastings were provided by the Taste History Culinary Tour partners Brogues Down Under, the Cheese & Wine Café,  Hurricane Alley Raw Bar & Restaurant and Sabal Palm House Bed & Breakfast.    High school students from South Tech Culinary Arts Academy assisted restaurants with the food.   Buca di Beppo also offered delicious treats.  The gourmet continental breakfast was catered by South Shores Tavern.  South Shores Tavern created a savory menu that included Nova BLT Sliders with Avocado, a Citrus Berry Salad with Ruby Red Grapefruit, Blackberries, Goat Cheese, Radicchio and Fennel dressed with Balsamic Glaze and Honey Drizzle; Blueberry Lavender Breakfast Bread and Mini Quiche Lorraine.

There are now more 30 restaurant/food partners for the culinary tour that are visited on a rotating alternate schedule which means different eateries are visited each tour. Private group tours are also available.

The culinary tours are small-format with the average capacity for the tours being 15 to 20 people. The tour cannot accommodate dietary restrictions and dietary substitutions cannot be provided.
Effective April 1, 2013, $40 per person is the new rate for the general public tours. Due to the increase in fees that are charged to our organization for the tour bus rental and insurance; an increase in our tour fees is necessary. Pre-paid reservations that have been made prior to that date will not be affected. The Taste History Culinary Tours program is operated by a non-profit 501c3 organization.  Special rates apply for Private Group Tours.
